Overview
There are various
developmental schemes aimed at poverty alleviation are ongoing in
Lohardaga District. They are as below:
(A) Centrally
sponsored schemes:
Swarn Jayanti Gram
Swarojgar Yojna, Jawahar Gram Samridhi Yojna, (New Sampoorn Gramin
Rojgar Yojna-II), Employment Assurance Scheme (Sampoorn Gramin Rojgar
Yojna-I), Indira Awas Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Gramoday Yojna, Pradhan
Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna, National Old Age Pension Scheme, National
Family Benefit Scheme, National Maternity Benefit Scheme are schemes
which are centrally sponsored schemes undergoing in Lohardaga district.
(B) Centrally Assisted
Schemes:
Lohardaga district
being a predominantly tribal district comes under Scheduled area.
Therefore the Government of India provides special assistance under
Article 275(i) of the Constitution of India and under various other
heads. Project Office known as Micro Economic Socio Organization (MESO)
was created to implement schemes under Integrated Tribal Development
Programme, Tribal Sub Plan and various other schemes.
(C) State Sponsored
Schemes:
Under State Sponsored
Schemes, apart from Health Centers and irrigation schemes, other schemes
under Department of Rural Development in this district are CMGSY (Chief
Minister Gram Sadak Yojana), MLA/MLC Schemes and Minimum Need Programme
for Construction of Roads. The basic objective of CMGSY is to provide
connectivity of villages to panchayats and panchayats to block
headquarters by constructing bridges.
