subsequent to extensive field visits and discussions, schemes were

Many
discussions and field visits were made with N.G.O. (PRADAN) and it was
found that schemes for up liftment of the poor people who are dwelling
in Slum Areas were most essential. The enclosed CD captures the
vagaries and vicissitude of the slum dwellers and justifies the
rationale of selection.
There are
identified 14 Slum Areas in Lohardaga Municipality which house many of
the poor laborer class and a majority of them belong to the Schedule
Castes, Schedule Tribes and Minorities and others most backward
classes. Most of them are dwell in extremely unsanitary and inhuman
conditions. All of them belong to “below poverty line” status.
Hence a decision was taken that keeping in view of the availability of
fund following schemes should be taken up on priority basis in the
slum areas. These are shown in list ‘B’ and briefly summarized below:

poor family are dwelling in the Municipal jurisdiction, of them
200 families are residing in Mud houses. All of them need
Government provided houses on the guideline of HUDCO construction
scheme.
There
will be a committee, headed by Deputy Commissioner and include
representatives of the NGOs, which will take final decision in
allotting houses to the most needed families. All of those in Slum
areas in Municipal jurisdiction are paying Holding Tax.
